The Front Page: DUMBO In The News

Fall in DUMBO is in full swing. From Dock Street to Jay Street, the signs are everywhere – pop into one of the many great boutique coffee shops and see morning brews transition from iced to hot. One can almost hear the rifling-through of closets in search of longer and warmer outerwear. A stroll down cobblestoned streets reveals neighborhood boutiques deploying their autumnal collections in charming window displays.

October tropes aside, while the temperature may be dropping DUMBO remains the hottest neighborhood for New York City’s doers and dreamers – and 98 Front’s new condominium residences sit at the nexus of this vibrant community. Here’s the latest and greatest from our beloved Brooklyn neighborhood.

Brooklyn Public Library to Open Temporary Branch in DUMBO

While DUMBO residents eagerly await the completion of their brand-new, 6,565-square-foot Brooklyn Public Library branch (opening fall 2020), they will be able to enjoy a temporary annex at One John Street – with a small collection of books, and after-school programming including story time and homework help, starting on November 5th.

The New York Times Explores #DUMBO Through The Years

DUMBO is perhaps the most instagrammable neighborhood in America, according to The New York Times: “The view of the Manhattan Bridge from Dumbo has become so Instagram-famous that it has entered the realm of the Eiffel Tower and latte foam: People take pictures of it because people take pictures of it.” We agree wholeheartedly – as evidenced by our Instagram. Thousands of Tiny Elephants Float into DUMBO Streets

September saw the third annual DUMBO Drop – a fundraising event for public schools held during the DUMBO Improvement District’s Washington Street block party. Thousands of miniature blue elephants parachuted from rooftops, adding a bit of whimsy to the streetscape -- delighting residents and tourists alike.
