Living Near Train Tracks

The New York Times reported on the many ways that developers are building quiet buildings near the city’s elevated train tracks, and 98 Front made the paper with its two sets of double-pane windows. In addition to eliminating any noise from nearby trains, bridges, and cobblestone streets, these large windows play an important role in the layouts of 98 Front's ODA-designed, LEED-certified DUMBO condos, which are flooded with natural light by floor-to-ceiling glass. The windows are an integral part of the building’s facade as well, providing squares with concrete trim to create a dynamic cubist aesthetic.
